The Hancock School District will host a Michigan Works apprenticeship and jobs fair next month.
On May 5th, students from all schools within the Copper Country Intermediate District will be able to sit in on two 90-minute sessions to learn about career opportunities. Local employers will share information about jobs and apprenticeships with their companies.
Students are encouraged to bring resumes, as some employers may be hiring on the spot.
At last night’s meeting, Hancock Board of Education members heard that a collaborative grant with B-H-K has been approved. That means their joint after-school and summer Great Exploration programs will continue. Board members also learned that work will begin soon to repair some leaks in the high school and middle school building. Materials have arrived, but the weather needs to improve.
