Obituary: Delores Keranen

Delores Virginia Keranen, 88, formerly of Trimountain, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at her home in Hancock.

She was born on July 28, 1933, in Hancock to Arnold and Cecelia (Mikkola) Anttila. She attended local schools and graduated from Jeffers High School in 1951. She was married to Wilbert J. Keranen on June 2, 1951.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, a brother, Robert; five sons, David (Connie) Richard (Deborah) Charles (Bridget) Paul (Patricia Fahrner) and John (Lynn), a daughter-in-law, Deborah, two grandsons: Gary Gardner and Christopher Keranen, and a great-grandson, Jonah Gardner.

Delores is survived by two daughters, Carol (Mark) Janisse of Hubbell and Edith (Dennis) Stark of South Range, two sons, Robert (Karan) of Michigamme and Joel (Jennifer Dionne) of Kronenwetter, WI., two sisters, E. Ellen Peltola of Baraga, and Barbara Walls of Milwaukee, one brother, Raymond of Milwaukee, 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services for Delores will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church in South Range with Rev. Micah Cavaleri to officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery in South Range later this spring. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of services at the church.
