Chassell Man Hurt in Houghton Crash

A Chassell man was injured Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Houghton.

City police report that a Kirkish Furniture delivery truck driven by a 55-year-old Laurium man was northbound on Bridge Street around 3:00 when the truck’s brakes failed while coming down the hill. The truck crossed Montezuma Avenue, and hit a retaining wall.

The driver sought his own treatment for minor injuries. The 45-year-old Chassell man was a passenger, and was taken for treatment by Mercy EMS. The extent of his injuries is not known.

The Houghton police department is continuing its investigation.
