Local Nonprofits Receive High Transparency Ratings

The Portage Health Foundation has received the highest possible rating for organization transparency from a respected non-profit monitoring organization.

The monitoring group Guidestar awarded its Platinum Seal to PHF for the second year in a row.

Several other non-profits in our region also received high marks in Guidestar’s latest report.

Gold Seal:
• Copper Country Suzuki Association
• Copper Country Community Arts Council

Silver Seal:
• 31 Backpacks
•The Rabbit Island Foundation
• North Woods Conservancy
• The Keweenaw Spay Neuter Assistance Group

Bronze Seal:
• Calumet Theatre Company
• Real People Media
• Keweenaw Bird Research Group

Not all nonprofits participate in Guidestar’s rating system. While receiving a seal speaks well of an organization, not appearing on the list could simply mean that that organization did not take part.
