New business students at Michigan Tech will benefit from $1.1 million in scholarship funding from a family with a long tradition of Husky pride.
Tech Today says MTU alumnus Dale Elliot and his family are pledging the money to help deserving business students, particularly first generation college students, attend Michigan Tech.
Elliot earned an MBA from Tech’s School of Business and Economics in 1970 and was the midyear Commencement speaker last December, where he was awarded an honorary doctorate.
He has had a successful career in business and is currently the CEO of his own consulting company.
Along with his wife and daughters, Elliot established the Elliot Family Annual Scholarship about three years ago to help pay for a business school student’s education.
Dean of the School of Business and Economics Gene Klippel said thanks to Dale Elliott and his family, Michigan Tech is now able to provide two incoming undergraduate students each year a renewable scholarship worth $2,500.
