Republican State Senator Ed McBroom will have a challenger in the upcoming Michigan Republican primary.
Matthew Furyk is a 32-year-old network engineer from Marquette. He has made several preliminary appearances across the district over the past few weeks, and officially filed petition signatures Monday.
Furyk’s website says he’s running to deal with gas prices, inflation, Marxism in schools, open borders, masks on children, and “China/Ukraine First” leadership.
He also maintains that fraud occurred in the 2020 election.
McBroom was criticized by right-wing Republican extremists after he chaired a legislative committee that investigated the election, and found no evidence of fraud. No one else has found any, either, and numerous court cases challenging the election were found to be without merit.
