Michigan has been selected to be a part of the Army National Guard’s Cyber Protection Team.
Governor Rick Snyder says it’s further evidence of Michigan’s outstanding leadership in cybersecurity.
Cyber protection team members will monitor sectors like water systems, electrical grids, fuel distribution, communication lines and transportation systems.
After months of extensive training, they will be responsible for conducting defensive cyberspace operations, readiness inspections and vulnerability assessments as well as a variety of other cyber roles and missions.
Michigan will be working with teams in Ohio and Indiana.
