Two arrested on drug charges in Baraga County

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested two individuals from Baraga County on drug charges related to the alleged sale of methamphetamine last Friday. The investigations were not related, although the apprehensions occurred close to each other.

UPSET and Michigan State Police – Calumet personnel were involved in the arrests. A 37-year-old man from L’Anse was picked up on a count of Delivery of Methamphetamine, the fourth time he has faced the charge. The maximum sentence is 20 years. He was found with prescription drugs that were not legally obtained.

A 39-year-old from L’Anse was arrested for Delivery of Methamphetamine, his third offense. He also faces 20 years related to the felony charges. Both have been jailed at the Baraga County facility and arraignment is pending in 97th District Court.
