Set of Baraga & Keweenaw County Homes To Be Rehabilitated

Baraga and Keweenaw Counties will be receiving grants for home rehabilitation from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

The two counties will receive a combined total of just over $182,000.

In Baraga County, approximately $95,000 will be used to rehabilitate three owner-occupied homes in the villages of L’Anse and Baraga.

In Keweenaw County, nearly $87,000 will go toward rehabilitating three owner-occupied homes in Allouez Township.

Both counties will assist homeowners with incomes at or below 80 percent of the area median income.

Senator Tom Casperson called this great news for Baraga and Keweenaw Counties…saying this will not only be a real opportunity and benefit to each of the three families receiving the grant but to the community as well.
