Little Brothers needs Thanksgiving volunteers

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly are looking for volunteers at their Calumet, Ontonagon, and Baraga locations to pull off Thanksgiving meal deliveries. Program Director Sarah Hoffman describes the roles that are available.

If they want to do cooking, we could really use help in Baraga, Ontonagon, and Calumet – Sacred Heart. If they want to do dining room, we really could use help in Baraga. If they want to do meal delivery, we could use their help in Baraga, Sacred Heart, Hancock, or Ontanagon. And if they want to do clean up for any of those sites.

Hoffman says that they have capped the number of people who can order meals, and most locations have already hit their ceiling, including Houghton and Marquette. Deliveries will total in the thousands, an ambitious undertaking that is only possible with a sizable volunteer base to help out.

Clean up is the last role and should be finished by 3:00 PM. If you plan to help out with cooking you will be needed in the early morning. To register as a volunteer you can call Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly at (906) 482-6944 or online at www.register.littlebrothers.org.
