Hancock transforming into Whoville

The Grinch promises to be on his best behavior Friday, November 26th in Hancock. His heart will be three times too large and doling out holiday cheer for the Christmas Walk. Organizer Shelly Lucchesi says the event will run from 5:00 to 7:30 and feature cookie decorating, a judging of the best window art, and book reading at the Finnish American Heritage Center.

Then the parade comes rolling through with floats decorated with bingle balls and whofoo fluff, maybe even some googoo gums and bizilbigs and wums. At 6:00, the tree will be lit with the Grinch and Santa Claus on hand. Quincy Green turns into Whoville. Max will even be there with his sled to offer kids a ride.

Lucchesi says you will be needed to help pull it off.

We are looking for volunteers, for sure. To help put Whoville together, lots of lights, and we’re putting together some houses and stuff. There’s a lot of man-hours we need to have filled.

Hancock city officials will be on Copper Country Today November 14th to provide more information.
