The Keweenaw is on a roll, with another national honor for the abundant scenery being awarded to the area. Fox News says that Brockway Mountain Drive in Copper Harbor is one of the ten best roads in America to see fall color.
Keweenaw Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Brad Barnett says, “Brockway Mountain Drive combines the best of the outdoors and the area’s history. Coupled with its accessibility, it’s a fantastic attraction.”
Fox News had some interesting facts about the road, which dates to the Great Depression. It is the highest elevated stretch of pavement in the middle of the country between Pennsylvania’s Allegheny Mountains and the Rockies.
Fox News placed Brockway Mountain in the same company as locations from North Carolina to Upstate New York, and as far west as Arizona.
