Calumet farmers market moving indoors

A mild fall is eventually going to turn, and the Calumet farmers market is prepared. It is moving from its summer location in the green next to the theatre and municipal building to the drill shop. The building is near the Colosseum and the school, perhaps best known as the home of the area curling club.

The old Hecla and Calumet Mine structure has ample space, far more than what is necessary for a sports venue. Main Street Calumet’s Leah Polzien says there is limited climate control, so what is offered by vendors will shift.

As our veggies dial back, then we invite some more craft vendors. Our market towards the holiday season then gets to be a little bit more gifty, where you’re going to have some artisan crafts.

Leather goods, candles, soaps, and more will be available for purchase. Some lights and displays will go up giving the building a festive atmosphere as the holidays approach. The market is expected to continue until mid-December.
