Norway Shooting Suspect Arraigned

Police are still investigating the incident that took place Wednesday afternoon in Norway where two Michigan State Police troopers were shot at. Police says that troopers went to a residence on 11th Avenue to serve a warrant, and when entering the house, the suspect, 49-year-old Richard Goodreau, shot at them with a handgun. Goodreau was taken into custody uninjured and lodged in the Dickinson County Jail. He was arraigned yesterday and charged with criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, assault with intent to murder, malicious destruction of police property, and a felony firearms charge. Due to the shooting incident, one trooper was treated and released at the Dickinson County Hospital. The other trooper sought own medical treatment. The suspect is still in jail on a one million dollar bond. His next court date is scheduled for February 25th.
