Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital is being recognized for its life-saving efforts for a patient. The emergency department at the hospital has received the Aspirus Hero Award for their work on Ontonagon resident Margaret LaSota back in October 2013. LaSota suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the ER, where she was cared for and then airlifted to Aspirus Wasau Hospital to get a life-saving surgery. LaSota’s son, Jim LaSota, wrote a special thank you letter that was read aloud at the award presentation ceremony a few weeks ago. He says their family is very grateful and their Hero recognition is a great way to say thank you to the hospital.
