Obituary: Bob Baranowski

Bob “Barney” Baranowski, 76, of Calumet, passed away September 13, 2021 at U.P. Health System Marquette.

Bob was born on November 6, 1944 in Calumet, son of Leo and Gladys (Johnson) Baranowski.

He graduated Calumet High School he was an outstanding football player. He played on Calumet varsity football team all four years of high school. He then attended Northern Michigan University for a short time.

On July 1, 1967 he married the love of his life Sharon “Penny” Penpraze.

He was a machinist and worked at Williams Parts and Supply for 37 years before retiring.

In his younger years he loved baseball, hockey, pool, hunting, fishing and golfing.

He is a former member of Calumet Elks.

He was preceded in death by:
Sisters: June Lewandowski, Bea Radeke, Deena Jarve
Brothers: Jerry Baranowski, Jake Baranowski and Richard Baranowski

He is survived by:
His Wife Sharon “Penny” Baranowski

Brother Phil (Jayne Harvey) Baranowski

Sister Loretta Rowe

Daughter Jennifer (Ken) Kauppila
Grandchildren: Jake, Sam, Tessa, and Claire

Brother and Sister in Law:
David and Dorothy Murvich,
Tom and J Penpraze

Many special nieces and nephews and friends that he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Friday September 24. 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Calumet United Methodist Church with Pastor James Mathews to officiate. Visitation will be from 12-1:00 PM in the church on Friday.

The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
