Obituary: Edwin Salli

Edwin T. Salli, age 76 of Watton, MI passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at UP Health System, Portage in Hancock, MI. He was born in Ishpeming, MI on August 25, 1944 the son of the late Arvid and Anna (Helberg) Salli. Edwin attended school in Watton and L’Anse. He had worked as a logger for various logging businesses. Edwin was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Covington, the Covington Fire Department and the Tri Town Lions. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, was an avid Lions fan and he loved helping people in the community.

Edwin is survived by his loving siblings, Jack Salli of Watton and Helen Salli of Milwaukee. Numerous cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and other family members.

A memorial funeral service for Edwin will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Covington with Pastor Richard Little officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will take place in the Covington Cemetery immediately following the funeral service and then friends are invited to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon in the church hall.
