Pastyfest looking for parade participants

David Crowley stopped by the Keweenaw’s Own Morning Show on 97.7 The Wolf Thursday to talk about the return of Pastyfest. Calumet’s premier summer event is happening Saturday, August 21st, and they are looking to register parade entrants. Crowley says the earlier you sign on, the lower the chances that a crimp pops up, especially since COVID has forced organizers to finalize details at a later date than normal.

The planning of things has gotten changed a little bit, where people have had to wait to make decisions.

He says there will be a different route this year.

We’re going to line up on Mine Street and go down the Sixth Street extension, past Pat’s, and all the way to the theatre. It’s basically right down Sixth Street, a straight shot.

If you want to participate, the easiest way is through the Main Street Calumet website. Pastyfest runs from noon to 4:00 PM. The parade will step off around two.
