Steven J. “Steve” Solberg, age 67 of L’Anse, MI passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 4, 1953 the son of the late Arthur and Rita (Tobin) Solberg. Steve attended Redford High School. He had been employed with various construction companies as a carpenter and had worked for many people as a handyman after moving to L’Anse. Steve married the former Vicky Tollefson in L’Anse at United Lutheran Church on June 22, 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, side-by-side riding, making wood and was an avid Detroit Lions fan. Steve loved watching his grandchildren play baseball, Steven play hockey and the girl’s figure skating shows.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Vicky, children Chad (Jessica) Tollefson, Jesse (Sarah) Solberg and Danielle Hollon all of L’Anse, grandchildren Alexis, Steven, Danielle, Addison, Damien, Rhys, Ryder, Tenley, Harper and Sawyer, special niece Kayleonna Solberg, brother-in-law Edward (Alyna) Tollefson of L’Anse and sister-in-law Cheryll Solberg of Redford, MI. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Artie, Michael and Patrick and his in-laws John and Florence Tollefson.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Vicky’s home with Pastor John Ansell officiating, followed by a celebration of Steve’s life. Refreshments and food will be available.
Interment will take place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
