Chassell Heritage Center releases summer schedule

The Chassell Heritage Center is providing a wide variety of activities throughout August as part of its Summer Series held on Thursday nights. Barb Worrall says each program starts at 7:00 PM inside the museum, which is air conditioned, a definite perk during what has turned out to be a warm summer. It is all free to the public, but donations are strongly encouraged.

A full list is available below, but it is important to highlight an event happening this week. Sunday is the Friends of Fashion presentation, entitled “America Celebrates.” The group’s Facebook page describes it. “Enjoy our live models in original vintage and antique clothing, along with a beautiful presentation of photographs of America celebrating. Live musical accompaniment will be provided by Dave Bezotte and Mark Oliver.

We’ll be celebrating Independence Day, the return of our troops, Votes for Women, Woodstock Festival, springtime, Strawberry Queens, sports, and ball gowns over the years.”

Tickets for the Friends show are $10 for adults and $5 for children. It used to run during the Strawberry Festival, but will be taking place in late July going forward.
