Howard Morton Wareham, 80, resident of Tamarack City, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Asprirus Keweenaw Hospital, after a lengthy Illness, with family by his side.
He was born on November 30, 1940, a son of Morton and Lily (Pascoe) Wareham. He graduated from Dollar Bay-Tamarack City High School in 1958.
Howard served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked at the White Pine Copper Mine, and later, as a plumber/pipe-fitter, member of Union 414. He retired in 2001.
He was married to Shirley King on February 24, 1968.
He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. He had been a member of the Tamarack City Volunteer Fire Department. He loved watching sports, especially Detroit sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by: his wife-Shirley, 3 children-Glenn (Sherri) Wareham of Tomah, WI, Lisa (James) Cuffe of Tamarack City, Greg (Nan) Wareham of Howard, WI; 3 grandchildren-Joshua, Kayla, Alyssa; brothers and sister- Shirley “Sodie” (Paul) Outinen, Robert (Betty) Wareham, Donald (Diane “Sissy”) Wareham; his pet dog-Ebonee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Father Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden.
