Keweenaw Bay Fire Department hosting community meeting

The Keweenaw Bay Fire Department wants everyone to have a safe summer in the Copper Country. Saturday morning beginning at 11, the organization will host residents for family oriented educational opportunities. Have a chance to learn valuable fire safety tips, and meet with law enforcement. The gathering is designed for all ages.

It also offers a chance to enlist new volunteers into the department and highlight needs that exist to ensure the group has the capacity to meet future challenges. Campers, fireworks, and other summer activities increase fire danger, and can strain the budgets of small organizations.

“These events will be a great opportunity for our department–and other public safety agencies–to interact with the people we serve,” KBFD Chief Diane Morin stated. “I am looking forward to meeting residents and highlighting the services and needs of our agency.”

The fire hall is on Old US 41.
