Last Thursday, May 27th, the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested three people from Houghton County for selling narcotics. The actions stemmed from separate investigations that took between two and four months to complete.
Houghton City Police assisted in the apprehension of 45-year-old Jason Paananen. He was arraigned on one count of Delivery of Suboxone. The felony carries with it a maximum of seven years in prison.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department was involved in the arrest of 34-year-old Sally Gibson of Calumet. She faces three counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine, a 20 year felony.
Sheriff deputies also helped arrest 38-year-old Martin Myllyoja of Dollar Bay on three counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine and one count of Delivery of Suboxone. During arraignment in 97th District Court, bond was set at $5,000 for Paananen and Gibson and at $10,000 for Myllyoja.
