Copper Range Historical Museum sets Open House date

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 5th, from noon to 3:00 PM, when the Copper Range Historical Museum will host its Annual Open House. The event kicks off the summer season, which runs through August. Board President Jean Pemberton talks about the pandemic affected schedule.

This summer, we will be open Monday, Thursday, and Friday noon to three in June, July, and August.

The museum is located in a former bank in South Range first built in 1903. It is a companion institution to the Champion Number Four mine. This year’s special exhibit highlights the Painesdale Mine & Shaft company. Pemberton says the organizations are growing in popularity, especially among Michigan Tech students. In addition to the hours mentioned by Pemberton, private groups can schedule tours at the museum by calling (906) 487-9412 or (906) 482-6125.

The busiest day of the year for the museum is Independence Day, sparked by the Fourth of July parade through South Range. The museum will be open that Sunday for the special occasion.
