Governor Rick Snyder delivers his fifth ‘State of the State’ message to a joint session of the Michigan Legislature and a statewide radio and t-v audience tonight. During the speech, the governor is expected to highlight past successes of his administration such as the expansion of health care to low-income residents and the “grand bargain” in Detroit and he will ask lawmakers to build on those successes. Snyder also is expected to discuss improving services to Michigan’s most vulnerable residents. Snyder has said the state has an outstanding opportunity in his second term to revamp human services. Another focus will be addressing a projected deficit of about $325-million in the state general fund for 2015. The governor’s speech will begin at 7 p.m. tonight.
