The Tigers face the Toronto Blue Jays this afternoon. Tarik Skubal will start for Detroit.

Former Tigers closer Joe Jiménez will start the season at Triple-A Toledo. Jiménez struggled this spring, and has lost several miles per hour off his fastball. Detroit also informed first baseman Renato Núñez that he did not make the opening day roster. Núñez had been signed to a minor league contract, and can become a free agent, if he chooses.

In Cactus League action, the Milwaukee Brewers and Kansas City Royals played to a 6-6 tie. Lorenzo Cain homered for the Crew. Brandon Woodruff pitched into the fifth inning, and gave up two runs on four hits.

The Brewers will play the Cincinnati Reds this afternoon. Corbin Burnes is scheduled to start.

Jordan Zimmermann will remain with the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Zimmermann had signed a minor league deal before spring training that required a $100,000 bonus be paid if he stayed with the club. Milwaukee cut him to avoid paying the bonus, but Zimmermann signed a new minor league deal afterward.
