Among those sworn into the 98th session of the Michigan House of Representatives was 110th District Representative Scott Dianda.
Dianda begins his second term in office serving the western Upper Peninsula…including Keweenaw, Houghton, Ontonagon, Gogebic, Iron and Baraga as well as part of Marquette County.
Dianda’s first term included fighting for proposals to improve U.P. communities such as tax relief for middle-class families and helping convince Gov. Rick Snyder to declare a state of emergency after brutally cold temperatures caused frozen and burst water pipes in many U.P. communities.
He also called for fair distribution of Michigan Department of Transportation road funding.
Dianda says his second term will focus on supporting local businesses and creating jobs as well as policies to protect the area’s natural resources and the environment.
