MTU To Start Spring Semester Online

Michigan Tech will begin the spring semester with a week of online classes for undergraduates.

The change has been made because of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s request to delay the return of undergraduate students to campus until January 15th.

Tech will still begin the spring semester on January 11th, but will hold classes only online through January 19th. Move-in weekend for those living on campus will be delayed to January 15th through 18th.

Tech Today reports that students who live on campus will receive an email by the end of the day tomorrow with information, including instructions about applying for permission to return to campus early because of extenuating circumstances.

During the winter break, the university will send instructions to students on how to schedule a baseline COVID-19 test when returning to campus.

Graduate students will also receive information by email as to how the schedule change affects them.
