Same Day Service – Election Lawsuit Tossed in Record Time

Yet another lawsuit challenging the result of Michigan’s November election has been thrown out of court.

This suit was filed in Western Michigan U.S. District Court yesterday by Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf and seven Barry County residents who had been nominated to serve as Republican Party presidential electors.

By mid-afternoon, Chief Judge Robert Jonker had rejected it, saying “Plaintiffs’ Applications invite the Court to make speculative leaps towards a hazy and nebulous inference.”

The filing rehashed a lot of rumors that have been debunked numerous times, including the myth that Sharpies destroy ballots, and a report being circulated that Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has ordered that election data be purged. Benson has, in fact, directed that all election data needed for the upcoming post-election audits be preserved, including printouts of poll data.

Leaf made national headlines a few weeks ago, when he downplayed the alleged plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer and attack state facilities and law enforcement officials, saying the conspirators may have been trying to make a legal citizen’s arrest.
