Bertha Makolin has left us. After 91 years of being blessed with her presence we are obligated to carry on her kindness and love.
She was born on August 8, 1929 in Belfield, North Dakota to George and Elizabeth (Miller) Armburst.
Who can forget her world famous cinnamon rolls and pasties. Her ability to create beautiful images with her love of flowers. So many enjoyed looking at her flowers as we drove past her loved home.
Her hands and mind were never idle, creating beautiful embroidered items, that she unselfishly gave away to whomever desired them.
We can only imagine that she is now caring for her beloved grandson Shane and great granddaughter Isabella. Her love for children was unmeasurable.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Ann Marie, Markus, Frank, and Mag.
She is survived by her husband Robert Makolin of 35 years. Their love for each other will span the distance between them now until they can be together again.

Her son Lester (Kathy) Dukart of Lake Linden, Jamey (Mark) George and their child Dylan of Teaumseh, Michigan, Jason (Diane) Dukart, and his children Sadie and Alex of Collinsville, Illinois, stepson Guiseppe of Coppetelli, Rodney (Christeen) Dukart and their children Morgan and Jack, Andrew (Emily) Dukart of Lanse, Michigan.
Her daughter Nancy (John) Robillard of Lake Linden and their children Laura (Bruce) Dulong of Ahmeek, David (Leann) LaBonte and their child Austin, Craig (Brooke) LaBonte of Laurium.
Her son Vernon (Brinda) Dukart of Lake Linden and their children Robert (Rachel) Dukart and their children Callie, Leaf of Germany, Jennifer (Andy) Moyle and their children Reagen and Davis of Dollar Bay.
Her daughter Marlene (Bunga) Sickler of Mohawk and her children Jeffrey (Sharon) Heikkinen of Calumet and his child Felicia Heikkinen and her children Lyle and Oliver, and stepchild Taz, Bradley (Julie) Heikkinen of Calumet, their children Caleb, Steven, Madelyn, Elizabeth, Paisley, Kari Heikkinen of Mohawk and her children Daegan, Bailey and LeLand, Sara (Luke) Beckley of Mohawk, their children Magnolia and Cypress, Step daughter Jessie (Josh) Spelich of Mohawk and their child Waylan..
Her son Rodger Dukart (Linda Griffin) of Gay, Michigan and his children Katrina (Mark) McPherson and their child Jonathon of Wyoming, Misty and Danny of Texas.
Her daughter Beverley (James) Spehar and children Derek (Crystal) Holzberger and their child Mason of Lake Linden, Chad (Courtney) Holzberger and their child Vivienne of Lake Linden, Step son Scott (Debbie) Dianda of Calumet and Step Daughter Jill (Steve) Auge.
Her daughter Diane (Allen) Kniskern from Marinette and their children Dawn (Ben) Ziemendorf, and their children Quinten, Emmalynn of Green Bay, Samantha (Phil) DuMarce and their child Judeah of Green Bay.
Her daughter Shirley (Joseph) Poissant, and their children Jessey (Maddy), and their children Frederick, George from Findlay, Ohio, Jestina (Tyler) Castagne and their child Clint from Rudyard, Brett (Taylor) Poissant of Lake Linden.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 21, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.
