A new member of Michigan’s Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission is expected to be named this morning.
Independent commissioner Glenn Shaw resigned last weekend, citing changed personal circumstances that would not allow him to fulfill his obligation.
Shaw had been named to the commission September 23rd, to replace original member James “Ed” Decker.
The new commissioner will be selected from among the 167 finalists whose names were drawn last summer.
The Redistricting Commission will use the results of the 2020 census to establish boundaries for U.S. House, State House and State Senate districts that will take effect with the 2022 election.
