65,000 Michigan residents are waking up this morning with medical insurance that they didn’t have yesterday. A U.S. Department of Health and Human Services report published in the Detroit News shows that 123,208 state residents signed up by December 15th for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. 47 percent of those were repeat enrollees from last year. 89 percent of those who enrolled through the Marketplace qualified for subsidized rates. If you missed the December 15th deadline, you still have until February 15th to sign up for coverage to begin later this year. Those who sign up by January 15th will be covered beginning February 1st.
