Michael Fulmer turned in three shutout innings, but the Detroit Tigers lost to the Cleveland Indians 1-0 last night. Fulmer, who continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery, gave up one hit, and struck out two. Cleveland starter Zach Plesac pitched into the seventh. He struck out 11 batters, including Jorge Bonifacio, Niko Goodrum and Austin Romine on nine straight pitches in the second inning.

The Tigers continue that home series tonight. Spencer Turnbull will pitch against Triston McKenzie. Coverage will begin at 5:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Romine left the game in the ninth inning, after he hurt his wrist while diving to stop a pitch that was in the dirt. X-rays were negative, and he’s considered day-to-day.

The Milwaukee Brewers outscored the Kansas City Royals 9-5 last night. KC took an early lead, with three in the first, and another in the second off starter Adrian Houser. The Crew roared back with six runs in the fourth, and three more in the fifth. Jacob Nottingham hit a grand slam, and Christian Yelich and Orlando Arcia also homered for Milwaukee.

The Brewers host the Royals again tonight. Corbin Burnes will start against Kris Bubic.

Ryan Braun left last night’s game with lower back tightness. He’s considered day-to-day. Milwaukee bench coach Pat Murphy rejoined the team yesterday, more than six weeks after he was sidelined by a heart attack.
