Calumet – Phyllis M. Musich, 97, died on Sept 4, 2020 at Addolorata Villa, Wheeling, Illinois.
Phyllis was born on February 24, 1923 in Laurium, Michigan. After graduating from Calumet High School, she became a registered nurse, serving in the United States Army Nurse Corps as a First Lieutenant in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, she worked as a nurse into her 80s, most notably at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital. She truly lived her life in loving service and care of others to the very end of her earthly life, and was a ray of light to many. Her faith was the foundation for how she lived and she was an active member of St Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Addison, Illinois for over 60 years. She also loved to travel, taking ski trips and fishing trips, as well as several pilgrimages to places such as Rome and Lourdes. She is survived by her sister Dolores Fife, and her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Anton, her brothers Benedict, Ernest, and Robert and her sister Clarice.
Visitation Wednesday, September 9 at 11am-noon at Ryan Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Gracious Pulimootil to officiate. Interment at Lake View Cemetery, Calumet.
