DNR Firefighters And Equipment On The Way To California

Firefighters from Michigan’s DNR along with equipment, are on their way to California to help battle the wildfires.

Governor Whitmer said “The California wildfires have devastated thousands of families, and Michigan is ready to help in any way we can.”

DNR firefighters volunteer for out of state assignments, and are sent to where they’re needed most.

Currently, 15 states, most on the western side of the country, are battling wildfires.

Firefighters gain valuable experience, fighting wildfires out of state, that they can use fighting fires back home.
