The Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ annual Fall Surplus Land Auction contains little of interest in the Upper Peninsula. The only parcel in the Copper Country is a small lot on Third Street in Centennial Heights. There’s also a tiny parcel near Watersmeet, and a small landlocked parcel near Germfask.
The online auction for Upper Peninsula properties will be held October 5th.
More than 200 parcels are available in the Lower Peninsula. They will be auctioned on various other dates.
Land included in the auction is typically not in use by the DNR, and is often separated from other DNR holdings.
