Food Distribution in Houghton Today

Feeding America West Michigan’s Mobile Food Pantry will make the first of three August visits to the Copper Country today.

The Pantry will open at 2:00 at the Community Action Agency on Dodge Street.

Around 300 packages of food, including fresh produce and dairy, will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis in a drive-through format. No proof of financial need is required, but recipients will be asked to provide basic contact information.

The Mobile Food Pantry will be in L’Anse a week from today, and Ontonagon on the 27th.

The visits are underwritten by the Portage Health Foundation’s COVID-19 Community Recovery Fund.
