COVID-19 Cases Rise in State, Region

The State of Michigan reported 722 new coronavirus cases yesterday, and 26 deaths.

That pushes the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases past 85,000 in the state, and the number of confirmed deaths to 6,247.

One of every 14 Michiganders who have been diagnosed with the virus has died.

There are some additional probable COVID-19 cases and deaths that are not included in the statistics.

Rising numbers of infections along the Wisconsin border have prompted additional testing in Gogebic County.

Free tests will be offered to anyone tomorrow from 9 am to 2 pm Central Time at the Northern Waters Casino parking lot in Watersmeet… and Wednesday from 11 am to 7 pm Central Time at the Ironwood Public Safety garage. No advance registration is necessary, nor do you need a referral from a doctor. A photo ID is required.

Since Monday, Gogebic County has totaled 10 new positives, along with two recoveries. Houghton County has noted two more positives, and one recovery. Ontonagon County has one new confirmed positive, and one more probable positive. Keweenaw County has added one recovery.
