State Managed ORV Trail Closed Due To Logging

A 15 mile long section of the state managed ORV trail B route in Keweenaw County has been closed until mid-September.

This from an email from The DNR.

The owner of the land is conducting logging activities, and the trail is not safe for use.

A reroute was not possible.

The trail is closed between Lac Labelle Road and Keystone Bay Road.

DNR  Central U.P. Trail Specialist Rob Katona said riders will not be able to access Copper Harbor and the Keweenaw Point area, when travelling from locations such as Eagle Harbor, Eagle River, Phoenix, Mohawk and Calumet.

The closed segment will have gates on both ends and DNR Conservation Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies will be patrolling the area.
