Boater Rescued

On Saturday evening, approximately 7:37, Houghton County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to East Grosse Pointe Shores across from the Dreamland Restaurant after a boater had fallen into the water.

A 20 year old male fell out of the boat, when a 22 year old male jumped in to help, and wound up drifting away from the boat.

Before Houghton County Sheriff’s arrived by patrol car and boat, members of the Bootjack Fire Department and First Responders were able to help everyone back to shore.

The 22 year old was checked and released from the scene.

The 20 year old was transported to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital, for non-life threatening injuries.
