New COVID-19 Cases In The Western Upper Peninsula

There’s new COVID-19 cases In the Western Upper Peninsula.

Gogebic County has 4 new positive cases, along with one probable case, while Houghton County has five new probable cases.

Probable cases are defined as cases that meet clinical and epidemiology criteria with no confirmatory laboratory test performed for COVID-19.

Kate Beer, Health Officer, said probable cases are treated as positives, with the individuals self isolating, along with the investigation and contact tracing performed with a positive diagnosis.

Gogebic, Houghton and Keweenaw Counties also registered recoveries, which means the individual is alive, 30 days after a positive diagnosis.
