MTU Bans E-Cigarettes

E-cigarettes are now banned from the Michigan Tech campus. Student government bodies recently conducted surveys and after the results were reviewed by the Tobacco-Free Task Force and the Executive Team, President Glenn Mroz announced a total ban of all tobacco and smoking-like products, including e-cigarettes. Mroz adds the action is part of an ongoing effort to make MTU a more welcoming and healthy campus. The ban will go into effect on Jan. 12, 2015, the first day of the spring semester. New signage will inform people that Michigan Tech is a tobacco-free campus, including e-cigarettes.
