Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is looking for Michiganders to be MVP’s in the team sport of democracy.
With less than two months before the August 4th primary election, recruiting efforts have been successful, with nearly 2,100 workers out of 75 of Michigan’s 83 counties.
Benson went on to say that election workers are the MVP’s in our democracy, and that successful elections are impossible without them.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, absentee ballots are expected to increase.
Combine that with social distancing requirements, and that equals more election workers are needed, more than ever.
Any registered voter is eligible to serve as an election worker, and you will be paid for your time.
Houghton County is also in need of election workers. Contact your city or township clerk’s office for more information.
