The Houghton County Board of Commissioners are moving forward on a plan to establish a special dental clinic. A forclosed building in Hancock has become available and much of the equipment needed for a dental clinic is already there. Board chairman Scott Ala says it is a great deal for the local area.
A dental service provider has already come forward and are very interested in helping low-income families. Ala says many of the local clinics can’t accept Medicaid so this new facility would be great for those in need of dental work.
The Board is moving forward on establishing the proper finances for the building with help from the Michigan Department of Community Health.
