Representative Greg Markkanaen is pleased Governor Whitmer has listened to legislators who suggested she allow certain workers to return to their jobs, along with loosening restrictions on some goods and services, outdoor activities and the freedom to travel between residences.
Whitmer did this during her press conference, this past Friday morning. Under the revised executive order, jobs such as landscaping and nurseries are back in business, provided they maintain steps to slow the spread of the virus.
Also, golf and motor boating are now OK, as they were previously suspended.
Markkanen said more could be done, to improve the lives of Upper Peninsula residents, while continuing to provide health and safety.
He also renewed his call for Governor Whitmer to continue working with the legislature to establish a regional, safety focused plan to restart Michigan’s economy.
