Two Jailed After South Range Home Invasion

Two people have been arrested after a home invasion in South Range.

Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the village around 4:00 Saturday morning. A person inside the home told them that a man and a woman had broken in. He said the man threatened him with a knife, and he defended himself with a chain saw. Both then fled on foot.

After a search, deputies arrested the suspects at another South Range residence. A 40-year-old South Range woman was charged with home invasion. A 32-year-old man from Warren, Michigan, was charged with home invasion and felonious assault. Both were held at the Houghton County jail.

No one was injured during the incident. Identities of the suspects will be released after their arraignments.
