This year’s Baraga County Lake Trout Festival has been called off because of concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 15th annual event was scheduled for June 13th.
The cancellation includes the Lake Trout Festival activities on the L’Anse waterfront and the Keweenaw Bay Classic fishing tournament.
Organizers said that, even if the restrictions on gatherings caused by the coronavirus threat were to be fully lifted by mid-June, they anticipated there would not be enough time to complete preparations.
They look forward to bringing the event back in 2021.
