The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department has issued a report with the latest testing statistics for the COVID-19 Pandemic.
To date, Baraga County has had 16 people tested, with 1 cancelled test, 5 negatives, and 10 waiting on results.
Gogebic County has had 40 people tested, with 1 test cancelled, 2 positives, 13 negatives, 24 tests waiting on results, and the U.P.’s only death from the virus.
Houghton County has had 60 people tested, with 10 tests cancelled, 1 positive, 31 tests came back negative and 18 are awaiting results.
Keweenaw County has had 7 people tested, with 3 tests cancelled, 3 negatives and 1 test pending.
Ontonagon County has seen 8 residents tested, with 2 cancelled tests and 3 negatives and three tests waiting for results.
Michigan now has over 7,600 confirmed cases, with 259 deaths, making it 3rd in the nation for deaths behind New York and New Jersey.
The public is reminded to continue to wash hands frequently, practice social distancing when out in public and follow government guidelines for slowing the spread of the virus.
