State Senator Ed McBroom spoke with Todd Van Dyke for an upcoming segment of Copper Country Today, and he was asked why he voted against against Governor Whitmer’s nomination of former Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell, to the state’s Natural Resource Commission, and he had this to say.
Senator McBroom cited concerns from gun owners, trappers and people who hunt with dogs, for his decision.
He was also asked to comment on accusations of sexism, regarding the rejection of Anna Mittering, who was nominated before Mr. Heartwell.
Senator Mc Broom also believes the state’s budget, proposed by Governor Whitmer, can be in place by July 1st.
