Weir Named to Calumet Village Board

Calumet has a new village council member.

At Tuesday’s meeting, Lori Weir was named to one of two open seats created by recent resignations. Her term will run through November, 2020.

Village Manager Caleb Katz says applications are being sought from individuals interested in filling the other seat.

Katz also noted that the village’s new marijuana ordinance is now in effect. Those interested in setting up recreational marijuana businesses within the village limits can get information and applications at the village office.

Katz said no applications have been submitted, and only one has been picked up.
